Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

Zoo · Nashville, Tennessee

A zoo on 188 acres of former farmland south of downtown Nashville, built around the 1810 Grassmere farmhouse whose last owners left the land on condition it be used for the study of animals. It has expanded quickly since moving here in the 1990s and its strengths are unusual for its size — one of the largest walk-through aviaries in the country, a substantial clouded leopard breeding programme, and a community-built wooden playground that is a destination in its own right for Nashville families.

3777 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, Tennessee, 37211, United States

Open daily, generally 9 AM - 5 or 6 PM with extended summer hours. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Parking charged separately per vehicle. Zoolumination and summer late openings are separately ticketed evening events.
