National Cryptologic Museum
Specialty Museum · Annapolis Junction, Maryland
The National Security Agency's public museum, on the edge of Fort Meade and the only museum in the American intelligence community that anyone can walk into. It holds the largest public collection of cryptologic machines in the world — Enigma machines you are allowed to put your hands on and operate, the Japanese Purple analogue, Cray supercomputers, and equipment declassified only recently. A major renovation reopened it in 2022. Admission is free and the car park is shared with an agency that does not otherwise receive visitors.
