National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

History Museum · Cincinnati, Ohio

A museum on the north bank of the Ohio River in Cincinnati, built where the river itself was the line between slavery and freedom and thousands crossed it. Its central object is a two-storey slave pen from a Kentucky farm, dismantled beam by beam and rebuilt inside the building — one of very few such structures anywhere in the United States.

50 East Freedom Way, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202, United States

Open most days, generally 11:00 to 17:00, closed Mondays and some holidays — check before travelling. Timed tickets, cheaper online than at the door.
