Natural Bridge Caverns
Show Cave · San Antonio, Texas
The largest cavern system open to the public in Texas, thirty minutes north of San Antonio beneath a sixty-foot limestone bridge that gives it its name. Four college students found it in 1960 with the landowner's permission, following a sinkhole; it opened in 1964 and is now a National Natural Landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Discovery Tour drops 180 feet into chambers over a hundred feet tall, and a second cavern and a ropes course sit alongside it.
