Natural Falls State Park

Oklahoma State Park; 77 Foot Waterfall, Parking Pass Required · Colcord, Oklahoma

A small park on Oklahoma's eastern edge, six miles west of Siloam Springs, built around a 77-foot waterfall that drops into a fern-hung box canyon of moss, ferns and hardwood forest more Ozark than Oklahoman. Two observation platforms look at the falls, one from the rim and one from the canyon floor reached by stairs and boardwalk, and 4.5 miles of trails loop through the woods. The 1974 film Where the Red Fern Grows was shot here, which older Oklahomans still come for. The park has campsites, RV sites, five yurts with real beds, formal gardens, an 18-hole disc golf course, volleyball, horseshoes, playgrounds and catch-and-release fishing. The falls run hardest in spring and after rain and can thin to a trickle in late summer. Oklahoma's $10 daily parking pass is required.
