Negro Southern League Museum

History Museum · Birmingham, Alabama

A museum in downtown Birmingham, opened in 2015 beside Regions Field, holding what is generally described as the largest collection of original Negro leagues artefacts anywhere. Birmingham is the right city for it: the Black Barons played at Rickwood Field a few miles west, Willie Mays came out of them, and the Negro Southern League itself was founded here in 1920. Admission is free, which for a collection of this quality is remarkable.

120 16th Street South, Birmingham, Alabama, 35233, United States

FREE admission. Generally open Tuesday to Saturday with shorter hours than a paid museum, and closed some weekdays — check before travelling. Closed major holidays.
