Newfields
Art Museum · Indianapolis, Indiana
A 152-acre campus on the north side of Indianapolis holding the Indianapolis Museum of Art, one of the larger encyclopedic art museums in the United States, together with the Lilly House estate, a formal garden and the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park, a hundred acres of woodland and lake used for large-scale outdoor commissions. The institution renamed itself Newfields in 2017 to describe the whole campus rather than the museum alone, which is why the art museum and the grounds are frequently described as separate places.
