Newport Aquarium
Aquarium · Newport, Kentucky
A privately run aquarium on the Kentucky bank of the Ohio River, directly across the water from downtown Cincinnati and connected to it by a pedestrian bridge. It opened in 1999 as the anchor of the Newport on the Levee development and is built around five seamless acrylic tunnels that put visitors underneath the tanks. Its best-known feature is Shark Bridge, a rope suspension bridge strung a few inches above open water with sharks swimming under it — one of very few of its kind anywhere.

Open daily, generally 10 AM - 5 PM with extended summer hours and reduced winter hours; closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Parking is charged separately in the Newport on the Levee garages. Animal encounters are booked in advance and separately.
