Noccalula Falls Park

Waterfall · Gadsden, Alabama

A ninety-foot waterfall dropping straight off the lip of Lookout Mountain into a wooded gorge, in the middle of Gadsden, with a city park built around it since the 1940s. A bronze of Noccalula stands at the brink, from the Cherokee legend the falls are named for. Below the falls a gorge trail runs behind the curtain of water past rock shelters and Civil War carvings, and the park adds botanical gardens, a pioneer village, a miniature railway and a campground.
