North American Aerospace Museum

Specialty Museum · McMinnville, Oregon

An aviation and space museum at McMinnville, in the Willamette Valley wine country, built around the Hughes H-4 Hercules - the Spruce Goose, a wooden flying boat with a 320-foot wingspan that flew once, for about a mile, in 1947. It is the largest wooden aircraft ever built and by wingspan among the largest aircraft ever built by anyone. The collection runs to more than 150 aircraft and spacecraft across three buildings, and the museum was formerly called the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum.

Northeast Captain Michael King Smith Way, McMinnville, Oregon, 97128, United States

Open daily year round, generally 9 AM to 5 PM, closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. A moderate admission covers both the aviation and space buildings, and parking is free. ⚠ THE WATER PARK NEXT DOOR - the one with a Boeing 747 on the roof - IS A SEPARATE BUSINESS WITH A SEPARATE TICKET AND SEPARATE HOURS, and is not included. ⚠ THE MUSEUM WAS RENAMED FROM THE EVERGREEN AVIATION AND SPACE MUSEUM; older signage, maps and its own web address still use the former name.
