Nunobiki Herb Garden

Nunobiki Herb Garden, A Hillside Garden Of Herbs And Flowers Reached By A Ropeway From Shin Kobe, With Greenhouses, A Restaurant And A View Over Kobe And The Sea, And A Walk Down Past Waterfalls. Most Beautiful In Spring And Early Summer. · Kobe, Hyogo

Nunobiki Herb Garden is a hillside garden above Kobe, reached by the Shin-Kobe Ropeway from the area beside Shin-Kobe Station, a ride of roughly 10 minutes - confirm. It grows a very large number of herbs and seasonal flowers on slopes that look over the city and Osaka Bay, with a German-style glasshouse, a herb museum and a restaurant near the top station. The best way to do it is to ride up, walk the garden slowly, and then walk down through the Nunobiki Falls, a series of waterfalls on an old pilgrim path, which takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes - confirm. It suits couples, families with older children and anyone who wants a green break from Kobe's streets. It is worth half a day in May, June or autumn, and not worth the fare on a cold grey day, when the beds are bare and the view is flat. The ropeway has maintenance days, so confirm before you go. Expect a gentle outing, not a wild walk, with plenty of paved paths.
