Oglebay Park
Regional Park · Wheeling, West Virginia
Around seventeen hundred acres above Wheeling, left to the city by the industrialist Earl Oglebay in 1926 on the condition that it be run for public recreation and education. It carries a lodge, two golf courses, a small zoo, formal gardens, a glass museum and a mansion museum — and from November to January it becomes the Winter Festival of Lights, a six-mile drive through one of the largest holiday light displays in the United States.
