Ogunquit
Beach Town · Ogunquit, Maine
A resort town of about sixteen hundred on the southern Maine coast whose name is Abenaki for "beautiful place by the sea", and which has been an artists' colony since the 1890s and a summer destination ever since. It has three and a half miles of sand, a cliff path called Marginal Way that is the best free walk in southern Maine, and a working summer theatre.
20 Shore Road, Ogunquit, Maine, 03907, United States
The town is open at all times and the beach and Marginal Way are FREE. ⚠ IT IS STRONGLY SEASONAL - most businesses run roughly May to October and many close entirely for the winter. Beach parking is charged and the lots fill by mid-morning in July and August. The seasonal trolley is the practical answer to parking.
