Ohio Statehouse

Historic Site · Columbus, Ohio

A Greek Revival capitol on Capitol Square in downtown Columbus, begun in 1839 and finished in 1861 after two decades of political argument, cholera and a prison labour force. It is one of the oldest working statehouses in the country and one of very few with no dome — a low drum and cupola instead — and you can walk in free with no ticket and no appointment.

1 Capitol Square, Columbus, Ohio, 43215, United States
