Founded in 1957 and now the largest community school of the arts in the United States, teaching several thousand people a week to play something. It is also a concert hall — a 425-seat room in Lincoln Square that is one of the best listening spaces in Chicago, and the room where Steve Goodman and John Prine came up in the early seventies.
