Olympic Sculpture Park
Urban Park · Seattle, Washington
A nine-acre free sculpture park on the Seattle waterfront, opened in 2007 by the Seattle Art Museum on a former Unocal fuel terminal that had to be decontaminated first. A zigzag path descends from Belltown across a road and a railway line to the shore of Elliott Bay, dropping forty feet and carrying large-scale work by Richard Serra, Alexander Calder and Louise Bourgeois along the way. The Olympic Mountains sit across the water behind it, which is where the name comes from.
2901 Western Avenue, Seattle, Washington, 98121, United States
Open daily, free, from half an hour before sunrise until half an hour after sunset - so the hours move through the year and are long in summer and short in winter. The PACCAR Pavilion at the top of the park keeps shorter hours and is closed some days. The park is never ticketed and never closed for admission reasons.
