The San Francisco Giants' ballpark on China Basin, opened in 2000 and widely held to be the best in Major League Baseball. Right field ends in a 24-foot wall and then the bay — McCovey Cove, where people wait in kayaks for home runs. The 24 is for Willie Mays, whose statue stands at the gate on Willie Mays Plaza.
