Overseas Highway

A hundred and thirteen miles of US 1 running from the Florida mainland to Key West across forty-two bridges, built on the roadbed of Henry Flagler's Overseas Railroad after the 1935 hurricane destroyed it. For long stretches there is open water on both sides of the car and no land in sight ahead, which is a thing almost no other road in the world does.
