Pearl Harbor National Memorial
National Memorial · Honolulu, Hawaii
A National Park Service unit on Oahu marking the attack of 7 December 1941 that brought the United States into the Second World War. Its centrepiece is the USS Arizona Memorial, built over the sunken hull where 1,102 of the 1,177 sailors and Marines killed aboard the ship still lie. The site was separated from the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument on 12 March 2019 by the John D. Dingell Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act and made a national memorial in its own right.
