Pepper Place Market

Food Market · Birmingham, Alabama

Birmingham's Saturday farmers market, held in and around the old Dr Pepper bottling plant in the Pepper Place district east of downtown. It runs from spring into December with something close to a hundred growers, bakers and makers, and it is the reason a large part of the city gets up early on a Saturday. Alabama's growing season is long, so the produce here is genuinely seasonal for most of the year rather than trucked in, and the chefs who buy at it are a significant part of why Birmingham eats as well as it does.

2829 2nd Avenue South, Birmingham, Alabama, 35233, United States

A Saturday morning market, running roughly from spring into December, generally 7 AM - noon. Nothing here the rest of the week except the district's permanent businesses. Free entry and free parking on market mornings.
