Perrine Bridge

Iconic Bridge · Twin Falls, Idaho

A four-lane truss arch carrying US-93 across the Snake River Canyon at Twin Falls, 486 feet above the water on a main span of 993 feet. The current bridge was completed in July 1976, replacing a 1927 cantilever that was for a time the highest bridge in the world. It is best known for something the engineers did not design: it may be the only man-made structure in the United States where BASE jumping is permitted year round without a permit, and on a warm weekend people step off it while traffic goes past behind them.

Neilsen Point Place, Twin Falls, Idaho, 83301, United States

Open at all times, every day of the year, and FREE. The pedestrian walkway across the bridge is separated from the traffic and is open at all hours; parking is free at both ends. ⚠ NO PERMIT IS REQUIRED TO BASE JUMP FROM THIS BRIDGE and jumpers use the same walkway - expect to share it. THE TWIN FALLS VISITOR CENTER at the south-west end keeps its own daily hours, generally longer in summer, and is free. The Canyon Rim Trail is open year round. Jumping activity is heaviest on warm weekend afternoons from roughly April to October and is far lighter in winter.
