Petoskey Gaslight District

Heritage District · Petoskey, Michigan

The Victorian commercial centre of Petoskey, stepped up a hill above Little Traverse Bay with its brick storefronts intact and its street lamps still gas-styled. Ernest Hemingway spent his boyhood summers on nearby Walloon Lake and drank in what is now the City Park Grill, and the bay below the district produces the fossil coral the town is named for.
