Poʻipū
Beach Town · Poipu, Hawaii
A census-designated place on the southern side of Kauaʻi with a resident population of about thirteen hundred, and the island's main resort area - a group of high-end hotels and two shopping centres along a stretch of coast. It sits on the dry, sunny side of the island, which is the reason it developed as it did, and its beach park is one of the few genuinely well-supervised swimming beaches on Kauaʻi.
Halalu Street, Poipu, Hawaii, 96756, United States
The beaches are open at all times and are FREE, public to the high-water line as everywhere in Hawaii. Poʻipū Beach Park has a lifeguard on posted daylight hours and free parking that fills by mid-morning. Shops and restaurants at the two centres keep their own hours. ⚠ THIS IS THE DRY, SUNNY SIDE OF KAUAʻI, which is exactly why the resorts are here - the north shore can be raining while Poʻipū is not.
