For People On The Nha Trang To Mui Ne Road · Phan Rang-Thap Cham, Ninh Thuan
Po Klong Garai is a group of four brick towers of the Cham kingdom on a low hill at Thap Cham, in Phan Rang, built around the 13th century and still used for worship by the local Cham community. The main tower holds a Shiva linga and a king's image, and the brick carving is plain but fine. Ninh Thuan is the driest and hottest province in Vietnam, a land of dry scrub, cactus, vineyards, goat farms, salt pans and red dunes. About 45 km north, Vinh Hy Bay is a sheltered cove with clear water and small beaches, reached by a coast road around the Ca Na rocks. It suits drivers on the Nha Trang to Mui Ne road, about 100 km from Nha Trang, and people who like quiet ruins and dry scenery. It is worth a half day from Nha Trang, especially at the autumn Cham Kate festival. It is not worth a long detour on its own, and the towers are small, so most visitors need under an hour there, and the pottery village is modest too, so manage hopes before setting out from Nha Trang.

The towers keep daytime hours, commonly from early morning to late afternoon, with a short midday break at times and a small ticket booth at the gate. They may be CLOSED to tourists during Cham ceremonies, and on the Cham Kate festival days the site is busy with worshippers. The surrounding hill, the Ca Na coast road, Vinh Hy bay and Ninh Chu beach are FREE to reach at any hour, though facilities close by evening. Pottery workshops in Bau Truc and weaving shops in My Nghiep open in the daytime and close on rainy days. Confirm the towers' gate hours and any ceremony closure locally.
