Point Bonita Lighthouse

Lighthouse · Sausalito, California

The last manned lighthouse on the California coast, on a rock spine at the very mouth of the Golden Gate, reached by walking through a tunnel hand-cut with picks in the 1870s and then across a small suspension bridge over open water. It is one of the more dramatic approaches to any building in the state and it is free.

Field Road, Marin Headlands, Sausalito, California, 94965, United States

Generally Saturday to Monday afternoons, 12:30 to 15:30. Free. Closes in high wind or rain.
