Parc national de la Pointe-Taillon is a Sepaq park on a broad sandy peninsula that pushes into Lac Saint-Jean in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, about 30 km from Dolbeau-Mistassini and roughly 250 km north of Quebec City (confirm distances). Lac Saint-Jean is a vast inland sea, and the park is known for long, pale beaches, boreal forest of spruce and fir, wetlands, and the mouth of the Peribonka River. A flat cycling loop of about 40 km circles the peninsula (confirm length), the Veloroute des Bleuets passes nearby, and families come for swimming, beach walks, bike rides and camping. Canoe routes, birdwatching and quiet sunsets over the lake add to the appeal, and the water is warmer than most of Quebec by midsummer. The park is seasonal, with a visitor centre and campgrounds that need booking in July and August. A day-use fee is charged and camping is booked through Sepaq (confirm all prices).

The park is open in the main season from about late May to mid October, with the best services from late June to early September, when reception, bike rental and the beach facilities run daily, so confirm dates with Sepaq before travelling. Reception generally keeps daytime hours, and campers follow arrival and departure times set at booking (confirm). In shoulder weeks the roads and trails may stay open with fewer services, while winter use depends on snow and road clearing. Lac Saint-Jean weather changes quickly, and cell coverage on the peninsula can be limited.
