Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse
Lighthouse · Ponce Inlet, Florida
The tallest lighthouse in Florida at a hundred and seventy-five feet, and the second-tallest masonry light tower in the United States — a million and a quarter bricks, lit in 1887 after an earlier attempt at the inlet collapsed into the sea. Two hundred and three steps go to the gallery, and the keepers' dwellings around the base survive intact as a museum, which almost no American light station can still say.
4931 South Peninsula Drive, Ponce Inlet, Florida, 32127, United States
Open daily, generally 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with extended summer hours. The tower closes in high wind and lightning.
