Pops 66 Soda Ranch

Route 66 Soda Shop, Diner And Filling Station With A 66 Foot Bottle Sculpture By Rand Elliott; Opened 2007 · Arcadia, Oklahoma

A filling station, diner and soda shop on Route 66 at Arcadia, north-east of Oklahoma City, marked by a 66-foot steel and glass soda bottle that lights up in changing colours at night, designed by the architect Rand Elliott and raised in 2007. Inside, shelves of more than seven hundred kinds of bottled soda run floor to ceiling along the glass walls under a hundred-foot steel canopy, arranged by colour, from root beers and cream sodas to obscure regional brands and novelty flavours. The diner serves burgers, chicken-fried steak and shakes, the shop sells Route 66 souvenirs, and fuel pumps still operate outside. It has become one of the most photographed modern stops on the old road, usually paired with the 1898 Arcadia Round Barn a mile away, and it is free to visit; you pay only for what you eat and drink.
