The rim of Amabel limestone drops away to the Nassagaweya Canyon, and cliff-top lookouts show farmland, woodlots and the far side of the valley in one wide sweep. Cedars cling to the cliff face and some are very old (confirm age), climbers rope up on the walls, and in autumn hawks and vultures ride the updrafts along the ridge. The Bruce Trail passes through the property, linking it to the nearby parks of the Halton escarpment. The park is run by Conservation Halton, which uses a reservation system on busy days (confirm), so a spur-of-the-moment drive can end at a closed gate. The conservation area is generally open daily from around sunrise to sunset in the warm months and keeps shorter winter hours, though gate times change by season and some days require an advance reservation, particularly on weekends and holidays from spring to autumn (confirm the booking rules and the closing time).
