Ravinia Festival
Amphitheater · Highland Park, Illinois
An outdoor music festival on thirty-six wooded acres in Highland Park, founded in 1904 and generally cited as the oldest in North America, and the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1936. Its defining feature is not the pavilion but the LAWN, where several thousand people eat elaborate picnics — tablecloths, candelabra, full place settings — while an orchestra plays through the trees.
200 Ravinia Park Road, Highland Park, Illinois, 60035, United States
SEASONAL — roughly June to September only, with nothing outside it. Lawn and pavilion are separate tickets. Metra Ravinia Park station opens on event nights.
