Red Rock State Park
Arizona State Park And Nature Preserve · Sedona, Arizona
A nature preserve and environmental education park on Oak Creek south-west of Sedona, with views to Cathedral Rock and the red cliffs around it. The land was once the Smoke Trail Ranch of Jack Frye, president of TWA, and his wife Helen, who built the hilltop House of Apache Fire in the 1940s. Today about five miles of trails wind through creekside sycamores and cottonwoods and up onto red rock ridges, and naturalists lead bird walks and nature hikes. Unlike most of Oak Creek, the park is managed to protect the creek, so swimming and wading are not allowed. It is far quieter than Sedona's famous trailheads. In 2026 entry was $10 for adults and the park was open 8 AM-5 PM.
