Reptile Gardens
Zoo · Rapid City, South Dakota
Certified by Guinness World Records in both 2014 and 2018 as the world's largest reptile zoo, on the road between Rapid City and Mount Rushmore. It opened in 1937 as a roadside snake pit and grew into a serious collection housed partly under a large glass dome that doubles as a botanical garden. The live shows are the reason to time a visit, and it is closed for four months of the year.
