Ricketts Glen State Park
State Park — National Natural Landmark · Benton, Pennsylvania
Thirteen thousand acres on the Allegheny Front in northern Pennsylvania, holding a glen where two streams drop off a plateau and meet, and twenty-two named waterfalls are strung along a single seven-mile trail. The tallest, Ganoga Falls, is ninety-four feet. The Glens Natural Area is a National Natural Landmark and holds old-growth hemlock and white pine that were never cut because the man who owned them refused to sell. The Falls Trail is one of the best day hikes in the eastern United States and it is also genuinely dangerous.
