River Market District
Little Rock'S Riverfront Market And Entertainment District, Redeveloped From 1996 Around The Ottenheimer Market Hall And The Arkansas River Waterfront. · Little Rock, Arkansas
The River Market is the two or three blocks of Little Rock that actually feel like a city centre - a market hall, a farmers market pavilion, restaurants and bars, the central library, the Museum of Discovery, and a riverfront park with an amphitheatre, all strung along President Clinton Avenue. The Clinton Presidential Center sits at the eastern end and the converted 1899 rail bridge crosses to North Little Rock, so the district doubles as the hinge of the Arkansas River Trail. It was warehouses and empty lots until the mid-1990s. It is where visitors to Little Rock end up eating, and the farmers market on a Saturday morning is the best time to be in it.
400 President Clinton Avenue, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72201, United States
The streets and riverfront park are public and open at all hours. The Ottenheimer Market Hall keeps daytime hours; the outdoor farmers market runs on set mornings through the growing season, typically Saturdays and one weekday. Restaurants and bars run later, with the bar trade concentrated at weekends. Museums and the library in the district keep their own hours and several close on Sundays or Mondays.
