Roanoke City Market

Food Market · Roanoke, Virginia

An open-air farmers market that has traded on the same downtown square since 1882, which makes it one of the oldest continuously operating markets in Virginia and among the oldest in the country. Growers still set up under the awnings on Market Street, and the 1922 City Market Building behind them was restored in 2011 into a food hall, so the square works as a market in the morning and as lunch for the rest of the day.

32 Market Square Southeast, Roanoke, Virginia, 24011, United States

Open-air market generally most mornings, fullest on Saturday, with a reduced stall count in winter. The City Market Building food hall keeps longer daily hours. Free to visit.
