Roaring River State Park
Subnational Park · Cassville, Missouri
A spring rising at the head of a steep, wooded Ozark valley in the far south-west corner of Missouri, twenty minutes from the Arkansas line, and one of the state's four trout parks. The land was bought in 1928 by a St. Louis patent-medicine manufacturer, Thomas Sayman, after the game and fish commission declined to, and handed to the state. The Civilian Conservation Corps rebuilt the dam and the hatchery in 1933 and much of what they made is still in use.
