Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Specialty Museum · Cleveland, Ohio

A glass pyramid by I. M. Pei on the Lake Erie shore at North Coast Harbor, opened in 1995 to hold the archive and the honour roll of rock and roll. Cleveland won it against richer bidders partly because the disc jockey Alan Freed popularised the phrase here and staged what is generally called the first rock concert in the city in 1952.

1100 East 9th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, 44114, United States

Open daily, generally 10:00 to 17:00, with later evening hours on some days and through the summer. Timed-entry tickets. Check the current calendar before travelling.
