Sagamore Hill National Historic Site
Historic House · Oyster Bay, New York
Theodore Roosevelt's house at Oyster Bay, built 1885 and his home for thirty-five years until he died there in 1919 — and the SUMMER WHITE HOUSE from 1902 to 1908, where he negotiated the end of the Russo-Japanese War and won the Nobel Peace Prize for it. Almost everything in the twenty-three rooms is original to the family, including the hunting trophies, which makes it one of the most intact presidential homes in the country.
