San Antonio River Walk

Promenade · San Antonio, Texas

A stone-lined pedestrian canal one level below the streets of downtown San Antonio, built as a 1930s WPA flood-control project and grown into the busiest attraction in Texas. The downtown horseshoe is lined with restaurant terraces, cypress trees and river barges, and the path now runs fifteen miles — north through the Museum Reach to the Pearl and south along the Mission Reach to all four Spanish missions.

East Commerce Street at the river, San Antonio, Texas, 78205, United States

Public path, open 24 hours, free. Barge cruises roughly 9/10 AM to 9/10 PM. Restaurants keep their own hours. Sections may close after heavy rain.
