Satchari National Park

National Park · Chunarughat, Sylhet

A small semi-evergreen national park in Habiganj on the old Dhaka-Sylhet highway - essentially the quieter, wilder sibling of Lawachara, with a small population of hoolock gibbons, a Tripura community village inside the forest, and marked trails that see a fraction of Lawachara's foot traffic. Declared in 2005 from the Raghunandan hills reserve, Satchari (the name means "seven streams") rewards patient walkers: fewer guaranteed sightings than Lawachara, better odds of having the forest to yourself.

Old Dhaka-Sylhet Highway, Chunarughat, Sylhet, Bangladesh

Open daily through daylight hours with ticketed entry at the highway gate; dawn arrival is the wildlife window. Fee schedule (dual local/foreigner pricing reported) UNVERIFIED for 2026. Community guides available at the entrance most mornings.
