Science Museum of Virginia

Science Museum · Richmond, Virginia

A hands-on science museum in Broad Street Station, the neoclassical railway terminal John Russell Pope built in 1919 and Richmond stopped running trains through in 1975. A Foucault pendulum swings under the dome in what was the concourse, which is a better use of the room than any exhibit designer would have come up with, and the building is at least half the reason to go.

2500 West Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia, 23220, United States

Generally 9:30 AM - 5 PM with some Monday closures depending on season — check before travelling. The Dome theatre runs a separate programme and a separate charge.
