Scissortail Park
Oklahoma City MAPS 3 Public Park; Upper Park Opened 2019, Lower Park 2022 · Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
A 70-acre park built with MAPS 3 city funds on former industrial land just south of downtown Oklahoma City, opened in 2019 and extended over the Oklahoma River in 2022 to reach the boathouse district. The upper park holds a great lawn and a 5,000-seat band shell that hosts free concerts and festivals, a children's playground and splash area, a dog park, basketball courts, a roller rink and the Spark cafe, all arranged around a lake where paddle boats and fishing are allowed. A pedestrian and cycle bridge crosses Interstate 40 to the lower park's wilder meadows, gardens and river trails. The park is free and open every day, hosts an outdoor skating rink in winter, and holds the city's biggest free events, including Independence Day and festival weekends.
300 Southwest 7th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73109, United States
Open daily 6 AM-11 PM, free, with no closed day; the children's playground is open dawn to dusk. The cafe, rentals and winter rink keep their own seasonal hours, and event nights change access (check scissortailpark.org or call 405-445-6277).
