Scottsdale
City · Scottsdale, Arizona
A resort city on the north-east side of Phoenix built around a western-themed Old Town, galleries, spas, golf courses and desert preserves, and the winter home of spring training baseball. Old Town has Main Street's art galleries and Thursday evening ArtWalk, Scottsdale's Museum of the West and a nightlife district; around it are luxury resorts, the TPC Scottsdale course that hosts the WM Phoenix Open, Salt River Fields and Scottsdale Stadium for spring training, and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, one of the largest urban preserves in the country. Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West is on the edge of town. Winter is peak season; summer brings extreme heat and deep resort discounts.
