Severance Music Center

Concert Hall · Cleveland, Ohio

The home of The Cleveland Orchestra since 1931, in University Circle — an Art Deco and Egyptian Revival building given to the city by John Long Severance in memory of his wife, who died before it opened. The orchestra inside it is one of the Big Five and is regularly argued to be the finest in the United States, which makes this the best-sounding room most visitors to Ohio will ever sit in.

11001 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44106, United States

Concert season runs roughly September to May; THE ORCHESTRA MOVES TO BLOSSOM MUSIC CENTER FOR THE SUMMER and this building is largely dark then. Building tours run on a limited schedule in season.
