Shelby Heritage Center
Showroom And Factory Of Shelby American Near The South End Of The Strip, With Free Tours Past Carroll Shelby'S Cars And The Build Floor · Las Vegas, Nevada
The Shelby Heritage Center is the showroom, shop and headquarters of Shelby American, the company founded by the racer and car builder Carroll Shelby, on a light-industrial street near the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, close to the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign and the airport. It is free to visit, and staff run free guided tours at set times each day that walk through the showroom of Shelby cars and trucks, tell the story of the Cobra, the GT350 and GT500 Mustangs and Shelby's role in Ford's Le Mans victories, and look out over the build floor where new vehicles are converted into Shelby models. The cars on show change, because this is a working business that sells and builds vehicles rather than a museum with a fixed collection, and many of the Cobras are later continuation cars rather than 1960s originals. There is a large gift shop. For car fans it is one of the best free hours in Las Vegas; anyone with no interest in cars will find it small, and it combines easily with the sign and the Pinball Hall of Fame a few minutes away.

NO OPENING TIME HERE WAS CHECKED. The typical pattern: the showroom and gift shop have opened daily from morning, around 9 am, to early evening, around 6 pm, with the free guided tour at a set time, usually in the morning, and sometimes a second slot; the build floor is busiest on weekdays and often quiet at weekends. The traps that ruin a visit are arriving in the afternoon after the only tour has gone, coming on a weekend expecting to see technicians at work, turning up on a holiday or a private-event day when it is closed, and walking from the Strip in summer heat. Confirm current times before relying on them.
