Shiloh Museum of Ozark History
The Regional History Museum Of North West Arkansas, In Springdale, With A Campus Of Relocated And Original Nineteenth Century Buildings And A Photographic Archive Of Several Hundred Thousand Images. Admission Is Free. · Springdale, Arkansas
The Shiloh Museum is the serious local history museum of north-west Arkansas and it is free, which in a region now defined by Crystal Bridges and mountain biking makes it the quietest good hour available. The galleries cover Ozark life from the Osage through settlement, the timber and poultry industries that built Springdale, and the twentieth-century transformation of the region. Outside is a small campus of nineteenth-century buildings including a log cabin, a general store and the Shiloh Church that gave Springdale its earlier name. Behind all of it sits a photographic archive of several hundred thousand images, which is the reason regional researchers come.
