Bill Graham's last big project, opened in 1986 on a capped landfill in Mountain View, with a white peaked roof that deliberately echoes the Sydney Opera House. It holds twenty-two thousand across seats and a vast lawn, and the fact that it is built on rubbish is not a rumour — methane vents are part of the site.
