Skyway Fishing Pier State Park

Florida State Park · St. Petersburg, Florida

The longest fishing pier in the world, made from the severed approach spans of the old Sunshine Skyway Bridge — the one a freighter struck in 1980, dropping the main span and 35 people into Tampa Bay. The centre was demolished and the two remaining arms were left standing as piers, so you drive out onto a dead motorway, park beside your fishing spot, and fish 24 hours a day.

4905 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33711, United States

Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The north and south piers have separate entrances on opposite sides of Tampa Bay.
