Summerfest and Henry Maier Festival Park
Music Venue · Milwaukee, Wisconsin
A permanent 75-acre festival ground on the Milwaukee lakefront, city-owned and run by Milwaukee World Festival, built specifically to host Summerfest — a music festival founded in 1968 and staged across three weekends and nine days each summer on roughly a dozen stages. Milwaukee World Festival holds "World's Largest Music Festival" as a registered trademark, and Guinness certified the claim in 1999, though that record is no longer published. The grounds are unusual in the United States for being purpose-built and permanent rather than a park that gets a festival dropped on it, and they host a season of ethnic and cultural festivals through the summer beyond Summerfest itself.
200 North Harbor Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53202, United States
An event site rather than a year-round venue, with no off-season public access. Summerfest runs three weekends and nine days spanning late June and early July; verify the current dates at summerfest.com. The same grounds host a season of ethnic and cultural festivals through the summer. The American Family Insurance Amphitheater requires a separate ticket from general admission.
