Tajhat Palace
Palace · Rangpur, Rangpur
The grandest surviving rajbari of the north: a long white classical palace on the edge of Rangpur city, built for the Tajhat zamindar line in the early twentieth century (completion dated variously c.1908-1917 - the sources conflict), with a famous white marble staircase sweeping up its centre and a facade of columns and pediments running over seventy metres. Restored by the Department of Archaeology, it houses the Rangpur Museum - sculpture, manuscripts, coins and regional finds - making it that rare rajbari where the interiors justify the ticket, and the anchor of any Rangpur division visit alongside Kantajew.
Tajhat Road, Rangpur, Rangpur, Bangladesh
Ticketed on the Department of Archaeology pattern, roughly 9-10 AM to 5-6 PM with the assumed Sunday closure and Monday half-day - UNVERIFIED for 2026 and worth confirming before the trip north, since Tajhat anchors most Rangpur itineraries. Mornings give the facade its light and the galleries their quiet.
